Hello. My name is Sonmi. Thank you for visiting. 
I am trained in the United States, UK and licensed Clinical Psychologist in Japan. For over a decade, I have worked with individuals and couples with diverse backgrounds. If you struggle with relationships, negative self image, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, traumatic experiences, work performance, I would be privileged to support you to overcome such difficulties and challenges. 

I welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds, various types of couples and relationships including international and interracial, and LGBTQIA+ couples and relationships.

I received my Bachelor of Psychology from California State University, Northridge, MS in Cross-Cultural Psychology from Brunel University in UK and MS in Clinical Psychology from Waseda University in Japan. After obtaining my license in clinical psychology, I have worked over a decade in various clinical settings such as mental health hospitals, universities and private offices. 
Over the years, I have specialized in multicultural counseling and have worked with individuals, couples and students, while many of them have international backgrounds. I have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety disorder, neurodiversity, job stress issues, traumatic experiences and relationship difficulty and such.   

​​I received training in CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). I also completed EFT advanced trainings for couples.

I welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds, various types of couples and relationships including international and interracial, and LGBTQIA+ couples and relationships.
